Business in Asia is one of the most prosperous economies of the world. Asia comprises of more than 4 billion people. The population of Asia accounts for more than 60 per cent of the world population. The entire population is distributed in 46 different states. Six states lie, further in Asia, but are considered to belong to other region economically and politically. Like all other world regions, the wealth of Asia differs widely within and between the states. This is due to its vast size, environments, different cultures, historical ties and government systems. The largest economies in Asia in terms of nominal GDP are China, India and Japan. Major centers for Business in Asia are concentrated in these parts of the continent. The largest continent shows a large variation in the figure of the GDP. Japan, is the world's second largest economy by nominal GDP, to Cambodia as one of the poorest country in the world considered from economic standpoint. Business in Asia reflects the diversity and variety of its topography, culture and population.

Asia was relatively rich in the ancient times. China and India alternated as the largest economies in the world from 1 A.D to about 1800 A.D. China was a major economic power and attracted many to the East. Prior to World War II, most of Asia was under colonial rule. Manufacturing to mining, agriculture to technology, production, jewelry, export all forms of industries are found in Asia. The important agro-based products of India are famous worldwide. Some of the important agro-based products are: apple, orange, grapes, potato, peas, carrot, cabbage, cauliflower. In addition to these there are certain seasonal fruits and vegetables that are available in one particular season and remains extinct for the rest of the year. Floriculture forms an important business in Asia. Asia, has been famous for the export of spices. The Indian spices have earned global recognition. The export of spices is a significant factor in the economy of Asia.

Japan, China and some other countries have developed into the technological hub of the continent. Although the economy of India was primarily agro based but even this old traditional country is showing signs of simultaneous growth of technology. Bangladesh is particularly famous for its agricultural products. All the states and countries of Asia are rich in history and heritage. They are in fact, considered as important historical centers of the orient and thus attracts huge tourists every year. But the southeast Asian countries, particularly, countries like Malaysia are emerging exclusively as tourist centers. The economies of such countries are almost wholly dependent on the tourism business. They are dependent heavily on natural and scenic beauty for attracting tourists. Again, mining business in Asia becomes famous in states like Bihar, Jharkhand situated in India. Textile business is particularly famous in Asia. Once Asia was renowned for its textile industries. Bangladesh is famous for its special fabric, “dhakai”, India is also famous for this business in Asia.
